The second doctoral conference of the Humanities and Social Sciences study programme: New perspectives in Humanities and Social sciences
On Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31, 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Arts will host the second doctoral conference of the Humanities and Social Sciences study programme entitled New perspectives in Humanities and Social sciences. Over the two days, you will have the opportunity to get to know the breadth and diversity of research currently being carried out in the PhD programme. The first day of the conference will take place at the Faculty of Arts and the second day at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The second conference of the Interdisciplinary doctoral programme Humanities and Social Sciences, entitled New perspectives in Humanities and Social sciences, focuses on new perspectives and original research contributions to science and society. The conference aims to connect doctoral students from different faculties and disciplines for future collaborations and it emphasises the cooperation between different institutions and the development of an interdisciplinary and innovative approach to study and research. It combines the fields of the interdisciplinary doctoral programme in the following faculties: the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Academy of Music, the Academy of Theatre, Film, Radio and Television, the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Social Work.
This year, the conference will host 60 students from the University of Ljubljana and other universities from abroad who will present their papers, two plenary lectures (Dr Rok Smrdelj and Dr Sinja Gerdina), and two workshops (Humanities and social sciences, let's talk about science communication & Key aspects of productive quantitative research strategies in social sciences and humanities).
