Lecturer(s): doc. dr. Širca Alen Albin, prof. dr. Novak Boris

Students develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge they acquired in the first year. They learn how to understand and write different less known poetic forms and how to master demanding poetic technics. The seminar is not limited to the traditional forms only; it deals with the free verse and other procedures of the modern poetry as well, including the experimental experiences of the avant-guard poetics of the 20th century. The highest step in the framework of this program is the animation of students to write their own poems. This dimension depends on their personal motivation and plans:
1) the students who intend to research literature and profile themselves as literary critics after their MD, have an opportunity to improve and specialize their knowledge in the history of poetic forms and procedures including the contemporary context;
2) the students who enroll to the Creative Writing program because of their own artistic motivation are encouraged to write and develop their own poetry and poetics.
The second year of the creative writing enables students to develop and master the forms and technics they learned in the first year.
This program gives an insight into the history of poetic forms and procedures.
One of its most important goals is to encourage the students' capacity for self-reflection and critical evaluation of their own work.
